Moocs are a great way to learn and are a step in the right direction to connect educators from around the world
The EPCOP MOOC
It was a great experience to be part of one of the earlier Mooc,s in Australia, it was a collaborative team effort led by Carole McCulloch and we all contributed the skills we had to the project.
We designed a MOOC focusing on Community's Of Practice and e-portfolios through the EPCOP project. What an exciting time it was the EPCoP MOOC design team took me on a journey into a new way of learning and communicating
The EPCoP MOOC(Massive Open Online Course) drew a large group of participants that joined to learn and exchange information to develop their knowledge about e-portfolios. Participants from Australia and around the world participated. One of my roles was also to organise a team of Challenge Mentors EPCoPMOOC
I am very honored to have been part of this collaborative role, in the design and Implementation of a MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) steered by my Mentor Coach Carole and funded by Flexible Learning Australia Framework. The EPCoP MOOC(Massive Open Online Course) drew a large group of participants that joined to learn and exchange information to develop their knowledge about e-portfolios. Over 300 participants from Australia and around the world are participating.
MOOCs create networked learning through the development of Personal Learning Networks and Communities of Practice. This has been made accessible and freely available through the emergence of social media and technology.

Challenge Mentors
The Challenge Mentors are a group of talented people from all sectors of education, we all met through a need to learn, and connected at Community Connect on the Australia e-Series, all are innovative. Developing weekly webinars has been a lot of fun, with my online community of fellow facilitators. All volunteer their time and I appreciate it, and thank them. I learn so much and feel honored to be around such clever people.
Working with this team has been fantastic, I learn something new each week and the layback style of show and tell learning has become popular amongst our audience..Join our webinars every Thursday at the Australia e-Series
Challenge Mentors ideas were exceptional we documented everything so that the design team could follow what we were doing and we offered support .
1st idea was a survey for participants to gauge there web 2.0 skill to help us have an understanding of their needs. We set up a newbies group to connect with participants who were new to web 2.0 technology.
MOOC Design Team Blog During the design of the Mooc we developed an edublog to document our journey. On a weekly basis we contributed to portions of the blog post by having a Google doc available to each add our own ideas to the blog post. This showed me what a wonderful tool Google is.
