    I was being trained by facilitators that have the knowledge, wisdom and foresight to see the positive use in education of blended and online training.
    This AccessACE PD helped me develop and deliver a fully online class for safe food handling which was implemented with students from Bendoc and Benambra taking part in the trial.
    I started implementing e-learning when I was an accredited Workskills trainer and had to take my own photos in my town of local Cafés and their staff to create some resources and training manuals for my Hospitality students. during this time my colleagues were teaching me and helping me develop IT skills.
    We were a small RTO training organisation and we could not afford to purchase photos.
    Tutor PD is very expensive for NFP,s a conference or training PD can cost up to $600 Only one or two if you are lucky from an organisation can go unless the conference is free and of course we also have the tyranny of distance problem in Australia
    The emergence Web 2.0 all of a sudden added a push and pull and a Social side to our training and opened up the doors to the Networking and sharing we still do.
    It was our first step in Building our Personal Learning Networks and Community of practices.
    We all don’t want to reinvent the wheel and being able to share our ideas, our skills and knowledge freely ensures we have a country of well-informed teachers.
    So the use of digital forums on LMS, wikis, social media and blogs is growing amongst the education sector as we move to a more sharing and networking culture
    Enables individual lifelong learning
    With Web 3 which is mobile learning technology and learning has even taken a further step

    From 2007 till September 2010 Community College East Gippsland allowed me to implement a training cafe for students undertaking Vcal (Victorian certificate applied learning)2008/9 ,Esl (English as a second language)2008/9/10 and Connections Program 2008/9/10

    How is it working?
    {buchan8.JPG}
    The Small NFP Learn Local and some Neighbourhood Houses in Gippsland that I have worked with have already seen the sense in being well networked and one very isolated small Neighbourhood house is using technology to teach teachers across the state using a blended delivery. So although they are Isolated they can now deliver courses further afield.

    E-Learning can come in many forms from setting up student e-portfilios of there daily work or using toolboxes or learning management systems such as Moodle. How we develop our e- learning strategies depends on the student cohorts and what is suited to the curriculum we are delivering. Many accredited units can be adjusted to incorporate
    an e-learning componant or developed for a completly online course

    The Buchan Project is an exciting community ICT project 12 month period, we are a team of educators who are delivering innovative learning, using support mentors on site and online webinars to all demographics of the township and out lying areas of the Buchan District.
    This project is funded by Library's Victoria . The team consists of Myself, Katt Mathews, Fiona Ross and Evelyn Schmidt. We are all from across the state of Victoria but often have others from across the country joining us.
